IPOB Switzerland Holds Sparkling Two-Day Retreat in Zurich
IPOB Switzerland 🇨🇭 held a sparkling two-day get-together retreat in Zurich on Saturday, August 22, and Sunday, August 23, 2026.
The colourful event featured an Ogene cultural troupe, energetic dancers and a vibrant atmosphere of entertainment and camaraderie. Members also staged a massive walk-out rally in their hundreds, with Biafran colours proudly displayed and Biafra flags flying throughout the procession.
A major highlight of the gathering was the warm reception given to Uchechigeme Anyanwụụtụtụ Okwu-Kanu, wife of former IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who graced the occasion alongside her son. She was welcomed with a beautiful flower reception as members celebrated her presence.
The gathering also served as another demonstration of IPOB's continued commitment, under the leadership of the Directorate of State (DOS), headed by Mazi Chikadibia Edoziem, to pursue the restoration of Biafra through lawful, relevant diplomatic outreach and strategic engagement.
The Zurich retreat has added another dimension to IPOB's global awareness and mobilisation efforts, sending a clear message that the movement remains active, organised and determined.
Despite what members describe as continued attempts to exploit divisions surrounding its former leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, and efforts aimed at weakening the movement or demoralising its members, IPOB maintains that it remains united around its stated objective of Biafra freedom.
The message from Zurich was unmistakable: the global IPOB family says its resolve will not be weakened by the emergence of parallel groups or competing structures.
