Mazi Nnamdi Kanu; IPOB Leader, leaving court after proceedings
Once again, another junk writer who is seeking relevancy is writing about the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. He is happy that Nnamdi Kanu is still in prison on Christmas day rather than tell his government that her citizens are spending the yuletide in penury and sadness. The myopic minded writer is rather interested in the way and manner the people in Biafra were celebrating the Christmas holiday but had nothing to say about the invasion of Biafra Land by the Nigerian Army in operations tagged ‘Operation Python Dance ‘and ‘Operation Eagle Eye’ while mass killings by Fulani herdsmen are ongoing unabated in Southern Kaduna. The reason I decided to respond to that trashy article is because the writer believes the death of Nnamdi Kanu in detention will be another event without any consequences.

The mentality of the writer is the same with that of the average Nigerians without adequate knowledge of what Nnamdi Kanu has become to the people of Biafra. It is believed that Muhammadu Buhari can continue to imprison Nnamdi Kanu or better still, kill him off, and nothing will happen. It is saddening that most of these people lack the knowledge of history which would have guide their sense of reasoning for the future. The worst decision that the government of Nigeria led by Buhari will undertake is to continue to detain Nnamdi Kanu illegally or to kill him.

The continuous detention of Nnamdi Kanu has already caused an irredeemable havoc to the government of Nigeria, as it is clear that in the history of Nigeria, no man has single-handedly pulled such a mammoth crowd to protest against the government. Those millions of protesters in different parts of the globe were never paid or forced to protest, but came out voluntarily to demonstrate against the illegal detention of their leader, Nnamdi Kanu. Most of these protesters have voluntarily given up their lives as they faced the brutality of the murderous Nigerian security forces without raising any arm but placards and the Biafra flag.

A man who paralyzed commercial activities in Biafra Land from the walls of Kuje Prison should never be taken for granted. Even recently, he warned President Buhari from visiting any parts of Biafra Land and called for a protest in Enugu state which was heeded and eventually stopped the commander-in-chief of Nigeria from the state visit. While the writer is seeking undue attention, politicians like former governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu, is visiting Nnamdi Kanu in prison to beg and to calm him down.

Nnamdi Kanu must be treated like an egg that must not be crushed, or else Nigeria and its inhabitants will be crushed. The First World War and the Rwanda Genocide were started by silly assassinations with the same ‘nothing will happen’ attitude but history is there to remind us the consequences of those stupid decisions. The destruction of important oil installations in the country that has led to the bankruptcy of Nigeria since the arrest and detention of Nnamdi Kanu is only a tip of what will happen if any harm befalls him.

I laughed at the part where the moronic writer wrote that whatever that happens to Nnamdi Kanu will only lead to a protest and normalcy will return. I had to conclude that the writer is grossly misinformed about the ideology that has always brought about the clamor for the restoration of Biafra. The celebration of Christmas in Biafra Land does not in any way affect how the majority of Biafrans still feel about Nnamdi Kanu. If the writer was intelligent enough, he would have wondered why there are countless number of soldiers in the peaceful land of Biafra while the northern part of Nigeria especially Borno and Southern Kaduna is being overrun by BokoHaram in disguise as Fulani herdsmen. It is obvious that President Buhari see the peaceful people of Biafra as a threat compared to his blood-sucking kinsmen in the north.

I assure Nigerians that the people of Biafra loves Nnamdi Kanu and will never forget in a hurry if any harm comes on him. Nnamdi Kanu may be in prison on Christmas day but in the hearts of every true Biafran, he is being remembered and prayed for. As the writer goes to church on the night of December 31, to shoot banger and laugh with his friends and family and to wish themselves Happy New Year, let him pray that his President does not take any irrational decision over Nnamdi Kanu. Else, 2017 will witness an everyday destruction that has not been seen before, as the effect of BokoHaram and militancy in Nigeria will become a child’s play compared with what will befall Nigeria. Only those who wants to remain ignorant will underestimate the power of IPOB after all that has been achieved peacefully by them within a short period of time. Forcing the people of Biafra to resort to arms struggle will push the whole of Africa into a crisis that will shake the world.

Nnamdi Kanu is spending the yuletide in prison for the second year running but he is more interested in the freedom of his people. The writer should keep his sympathy to himself and rather cry for his country that is heading into oblivion. Even in prison, Nnamdi Kanu leads tens of millions of faithful and fanatical Biafrans that will rise against the Nigerian government if any harm befalls their leader. The Nigeria government and its sympathizers must know that Nnamdi Kanu is in prison but still remains a nightmare to them. The earlier Nnamdi Kanu is released and a civilized approach is taken for a referendum, there shall never be peace in Nigeria.
