BIAFRA: JUST LIKE AKWA IBOM WOMEN: IMO STATE WOMEN WILL OVERSHADOW

November 12, 2016

An address by Ms. Chinasa Obi, the women leader of IPOB Oguta zone, at the zonal family meeting held at Awa community in Oguta local government of Imo State.

My name is Chinasa Obi; I am from Awa Kingdom of Oguta local government, Imo State in Biafra land. As the women leader of this zone, I can tell you that the women are turning up very well for the restoration of Biafra. When I came back to my community, I thought that IPOB family members were strictly men but my brother enlightened me better, that women are also allowed, so I decided to join.

I have spoken to many other women and they have indicated their interest to take the oath of allegiance for the restoration of Biafra. Our elders that experienced the civil war, have always told us that a time will come after so many years, when the people of Biafra will be free, that time has come and we must have our freedom. In my community, there is hunger, poverty and under-development even with the abundance of crude oil deposits in the community. Rather, the natural resources are being used for the development of Yoruba land and Hausa/Fulani land.

I have decided to mobilize our women starting from my community and then across Imo state, to join the struggle and support our leader Nnamdi Kanu, who has sacrifice himself to lead our quest for freedom. Before I joined the struggle, I have always admired the attitude and co-ordination of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB; so when my brother told me about them, I made my decision and joined the struggle the next day.

I have sworn to use all my strength to mobilize other women in Imo State, so we can assist our young men and elders in this struggle. Nowadays, what men can do, the women can do better. Women take care of the family, so the struggle will not be a herculean task for us. Whatever length or ways our men want to go in the struggle for the restoration of Biafra, the women will always support them.

As women, we will always consult the men to look into any decision we will make before we carry it out. But that does not mean we will not be independent as women to make our own collective decision that will move the struggle forward.

ALL HAIL BIAFRA!
