Mr. Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, I read with dismay your desperate political gimmicks to play against the Indigenous People of Biafra and her agitation for a free Biafra state. I want to remind you incase you have forgotten, Though you are a well respected man of authority elected by the people of Anambra state to govern Anambra and bring in political dividends for Anambra people and that is sure. However IPOB agitation supersedes any political dividends which you might have as a manifesto for the people of Anambra State. Therefore permit me to state it quite clear to your understanding that you have no capacity whatsoever to appease IPOB to abandon or stop her agitation for the freedom of our people because of your so called political dividends or amnesty. Indigenous People of Biafra agitates for a total freedom of all the Eastern part of Nigeria to exit an unworkable union of 1914 entity called Nigeria, our agitation are based on:
1. Age long injustice being meted on the Biafra people, the incessant killing of Biafrans since 1945 till date with no form of remorse from the oppressive Nigeria state.
2. Nigeria is a British company creation and Nigeria is never our identity reason the so called amalgamation. We are here to restore our stolen identity and the freedom they deprived our ancestors and this present generation through the 1914 British amalgamation for our future generations to live as free people.
Before the arrival of the colonial masters we are already known and called the Biafra people, a name derived from the Bight of Biafra and the records are there for clarification purpose. In 1967 the Eastern Assembly came together and officially adopted this name as our original identity, when it was suggested by His Royal Highness
Chief Frank Opigo Dawai 111, Amananaowei of Angiama, a statesman politician, educationist and a philanthropist. Who graduated in 1953 as the first graduate of Central/Western Ijaw land who later served as Assistant Registrar, Student Union.
In furtherance of this suggestion / adoption, His Excellency of blessed memory late Dim Chukwu Emeka Odumuegwu Ojukwu the Ikemba Nnewi and Eze Igbo Gburugburu was given the mandate to declare the state of Biafra as a sovereign territory unlike the creation of Nigeria by the British government that was through forced amalgamation of Southern protectorate and Northern protectorates for easy business trade and transactions.
Biafra was a consensus reached by all component clans that are made of old Eastern region. While the young republic was shortlived due to the genocide against our people aided and sponsored by the British government under Harold Wilson, USSR and other Western and Arab Nations.
The Biafra spirit is the sacrifice of our galant heroes and heroines and the blood of over six [6] million innocent Biafran souls wasted by the Nigeria government and her Britain ally is still crying for justice, their death cannot be merely be appeased by political dividends in just Anambra state alone by you as envisage by your administration. Justice demands that Biafra lost over six [6] million souls, they died that Biafra will be restored as a nation hence the IPOB agitation for a free Biafra state.
Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), are demanding for the unconditional release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu our leader and all detained Biafra agitators and a United Nations supervised referendum for Biafra people to decide their fate to either remain or to exit Nigeria peacefully. This demand is a right it is civil and it is democratic demand and not a privilege that may or may not be considered.
As simple as it sound and as difficult as it maybe for Nigeria state it must be granted. Agitation for Biafra is not going to stop neither will IPOB be appeased without our demands being met, what this means is that if you think you have the to meet this our demands there is no need wasting resources on appeasement forming committee because it will be dead on arrival and nothing meaningful will be achieved.
A committee we are expecting from a Nigeria state is a committee for referendum, boundary adjustment and assets negotiations that will feature in international observers records of event. Thank you and may God bless you hoping that you will do the right thing not calling for appeasement where there is no justice.
