The protest was staged on Thursday morning, according to a video seen by Biafra Reporters.


Protesters have stormed the British Embassy at Merrion Road, Dublin, the capital of Ireland to protest against the continued detention of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu by the Nigerian government.

The protesters were holding different and placards, as well as Biafra flags with drums and mega phones to create awareness as they sang peaceful protesting songs.


One of the protesters said, “We are holding a protest; it is going on at Federal Republic of Ireland, in Dublin. We are in front of British Embassy, at Merrion Road, Dublin 4, for the quest of release of leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Follow us for this event on all platforms. Thank you."

Nnamdi Kanu has been in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) since June 2021, and has appeared before the Federal High Court, Abuja on the charges of treason felony levelled against him by the Nigerian government.



Kanu is demanding for self-determination for people of the South-East region and other Igbo people in other zones of country to have a sovereign state of Biafra.
