Following the October 21st, 2021 pointless court appearance of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the IPOB DOS leadership led by Mazi Chika Edoziem declared that there will be total shutdown of Biafra land if Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is not released by 4th November, 2021. This lockdown will have to stress till 10th November 2021 which is the next court day of IPOB leader - Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. This declaration by IPOB was followed by another, banning any form of campaign in Anambra state and situationally the planned gubernatorial election slated to hold on the 6th day of November, 2021.
There has been unrest among South Eastern politicians especially those in Anambra state over this declaration. Remember, IPOB threatened before 21st October that if Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is not brought to court on 21st day of October 2021, that they will shutdown the East for complete one month. Eastern politicians rose immediately and started speaking up, some wrote to the pseudo President of Nigeria while others joined their voices over the media on why Mazi Nnamdi Kanu must be brought to court. This pressure from IPOB members worldwide forced the Federal government to produce Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in court. Unfortunately for the Eastern politicians, IPOB is not satisfied that their leader will only be brought to court without any meaningful charges and further more be refused to be remanded in prison but taken back to DSS dungeon.
The Eastern politicians believes that bringing Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to court will douse the tension and make them have their way but they were gravely mistaking. Now they are spreading fears in the minds of the people to turn South Easterners against IPOB leadership by claiming the worst will happen to the East if election is not conducted. We have serious questions for the South Eastern politicians who are making the people feel we are best protected when they are in charge than when their masters are in charge.
On 30th of May, 2016, Flag carrying Biafrans gathered at Nkpor for memorial prayers, on the order of the President of Nigeria, they were , many permanently disfigured and hundreds missing, some later surfaced with acid wounds etc.
A more serious massacre and adoption was recorded at National High School Aba where men, women, boys and girls gathered with Biafran flags praying to God to intervene in the case of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu who was then incarcerated incommunicado. What about the IgweOcha Trump solidarity rally massacre in Rivers State?. Do we sheepishly forget in a hurry how we woke up one day to find dead bodies littered in Ezu river of Anambra State?. Should Biafra Reporters remind the entire Easterners of 14th September 2017 invasion and subsequent genocide where without provocation Nnamdi Kanu's compound was attacked by Nigerian Military battalion and 28 men were killed included "a pet dog".
Hundreds were abducted, some were forced drinking mud water, some were later found decaying in bushes while many were never found till date. Of recent, how do we settle the carnage that took place in Obigbo were many were mowed down, females taken to Abuja to be defiled severally by Fulani Northern soldiers and later brought back to live with the memory for the rest of their lives.
Now is the almighty question you must ask any of these politician who is trying so hard to instil fear in the minds of our people about how the Federal government will take over power in Anambra State if election does not hold.
1. Are you saying that all these while we have been voting, the federal government had not been in control of the Eastern region?
2. If your answer to the number one question is yes, then, how come the killings and massacre of innocent people over the years which is claimed to have been ordered by the federal government (order from above, as was the case of Enugu massacre) of help to our situation?
3. If you insist the governors has been in control, then are you conceding to the fact that the killings has actually being conducted and engineered by the Eastern Governors and politicians?.
By the time you finish asking and gaining answers to the above questions, you will either come to conclusion that the Federal government has always being in control of Eastern region or the Eastern politicians has been guilty of massacring their own people over the years and therefore should have no moral right to advise IPOB about a stand down on election cancellation in Anambra State. Further to this, if the Federal government in the past can successfully invade the East and massacre our youths, then what is the essence of fighting to elect people in government?.
The politicians forgot that the primary reason for government is for the protection of lives and properties of the people and once this right is breached, nobody cares what happens next. We are right thinkers now, dear politicians, if you can hoard palliatives meant for our survival during the Covid 19 era, how do you think we can trust you criminals that are not genuinely interested in our wellbeing and survival, how do we trust you knowing fully well that our lives will not be protected by the federal government if they take over?.
The take away from my submission is simple, the IPOB and the entire Biafrans are going to make sure the election does not hold and this will end the pretense that all is well because election passes legitimacy to the politicians criminality which they had misused over the years and now we are determined to return power to the people.
No matter any position one hold, he must henceforth understand that power belongs to the people and the will of the people must be held supreme above personal interests and party interests. The will of the people is referendum and total freedom and if you cannot represent that, there is no need having you as their leaders. This is a fight between the people and the politicians who has been holding them down for ages.
