Biafra: [Genocide In Biafra Since 1945 Till Date]: What Is The Fate Of Biafra In The Face Of Humanity?
By Biafra Reporters | The Biafra Post | May 03, 2019
Jos riot of 1945, when the first ever recorded history of genocide/pogrom started or took effect in Nigeria. In the context above you can grasp or deduce whatever meaning you want to make out of the above statement, but while doing that note that disparity is a killing virus that won't help sustain any Nation looking for survival.
It has become pertinent we ask humanity at large who were the people killed in Jos of 1945 killings? They were the Ibibio, the Anang, the Ijaw, the Idoma, the Igala, yhe Igbo, the Igbanke, the Ogoja, the Ogoni; these and many more are the component parts that build up Biafra; today they are being classified as the Iyammiri by the Hausa-Fulani. What were their offence? Was there any sort of crime they committed against the Indigenous people of Jos before 1945 that resulted to their killings in 1945? Who did they offend? Did they offend the gods of the land of Nigeria? These and many more questions are waiting for answers by humanity at large and Nigerian government in particular.
The British government invaded the territory of Hamite known today as Africa, sailed towards the African trigger to enslave the Biafrans forever to the Hausa-Fulani, their stooge and obedient happy house-slave. No wonder Harold Smith one time British government MP in one of his numerous interviews said the British government don't care if it will cost 5 million of Biafran extraction to die more once they - the British government can have access to the Biafran oil unhindered with no complaints or disturbance coming from the Indigenous owners of the land where the oil exploitation takes place illegally by the occupational Nigerian government with British government acting in proxy.
From 1945 till date it has been one form of ethnic cleansing by the core Northerners or religious killings of Biafrans living in the Mohammedan Emirate of Northern Nigeria. It was as a result of tribalism, nepotism and ethnic bigotry that guided the coup of 1966 to salvage Nigeria of leaders with such sentimental mindset. The Nigerian young military officers at that time planned to execute all those navigating the Nigerian ship into turmoil that resulted to the death of Sultan of Sokoto - the premier of Northern Nigeria in a bid to relinquish power back to Obafemi Awolowo who was at the time imprisoned by the North but with Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu's series of plea General Aguiyi Ironsi released him and granted him state pardon which infuriated the Northerners and the coup was tagged Igbo coup by mischief makers in the Nigeria polity and the North descended on Igbos leading to the worst pogrom of 1966.
The North after killing Igbo military officers in their rank and file serving in the Northern Nigeria later shifted their killing spree on Igbo civilian population living in the North that has nothing to do with what the Nigerian military officers did to save the country from abyss; Igbos were singled out in a coup that all regions of Nigeria took part in. Before one could say blink, Gen. Aguiyi Ironsi was killed in Abeokuta Ogun State of Nigeria. Chukwuemeka Ojukwu who could no longer endure the killing of his people opted for a peaceful resolution in Ghana where a concrete agreement was signed by both Federal side and Eastern Nigeria side, on getting to the shores of Nigeria, Yakubu Gowon reneged and thwarted the accord that was reached.
Gen. Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu sensing an upheaval, consulted his Eastern House Assembly on what could be done to keep them safe from Nigeria and the people demanded that their region return back to her ancient name of Biafra and Biafra was birthed, Nigeria Federal government came with genocide on this innocent people scampering for safety. They have all left Northern Nigeria to be left alone in their home land. For 3 wicked years Nigeria Federal side rained genocide on a people that wants to be left alone to nurse their wounds while escaping the pogrom of 1966 that later escalated to a full blown war in 1967-1970. Till date Nigeria had erased the history of this genocide from being heard or taught in her schools as if nothing happened.
Biafrans are left with nothing than to mourn her brave heroes, heroines and children that were starved to death by Obafemi Awolowo and Jack Yakubu Gowon policy of - All-Is-Fair in war times; Jack Yakubu Gowon on his order blockaded Biafra from air, sea and land, which demands that he Gowon and other criminal elements of that war be tried at the International Criminal Court of Justice for war crimes against humanity.
On 30th of May 2019, Biafrans will be in a sober mood to remember those Biafrans that died during and after the war for the sake of Biafra. 30th May of every year is set aside holistically by the Indigenous People of Biafra to mourn them. On that day, Biafrans shall observe a minute silent for them that died that we may live to accomplish their dream of a free Biafra State.
