BIAFRA: BEYOND THE IPOB YOUTHS ON ELECTION BOYCOTT SENSITIZATION IN ANAMBRA STATE

I had just returned from an important errand when my sibling informed me that there was a “Biafra protest” around the Onitsha Main Market axis in Anambra state. He said he is so sure it was the youths of IPOB that engaged in the “protest” and that left me wondering the kind of temerity exhibited by the youths. I became worried almost immediately fearing what would have happened if the Nigeria security forces had as usual come to break up the gathering by shooting directly at them.

Seriously, I am fed up with able and vibrant young Biafran men and women been killed by the Hausa/Fulani Muslim stock Nigeria Army because they chose to act civilize and chose a peaceful approach to clamor for the right to Self-determination as enshrined in the United Nations Charter. Mind you, I am not propagating for violence but I strongly believe if you are been targeted for extermination because of your clamor for your right then you should be able to defend yourself in whatever way you deem fit. Nigeria is governed by barbaric-minded fellows who see those civilized as cowards who can be molested, jailed and even killed with impunity.

Anyway, when I got access to the internet I was fascinated by the video of hundreds of young men and women wearing white vest, waving the Biafra flag, chanting Biafra songs and sensitizing the people on the need to boycott the upcoming governorship election in Anambra state. I was even more fascinated by the response of the passersby, traders, students and the rest of the people who were excited and hailing the youths. The message from the video clearly revealed that the clamor for the restoration of Biafra has gone beyond the Leader of IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

The invasion of the home of Nnamdi Kanu and the designation of IPOB as a terrorist organization was strategized to thwart the desire of the people of Biafra to clamor for the right to Self-determination but that is visibly in vain as the desire for the restoration of Biafra grows each day. I wish most people will look beyond the young men and women who publicly came out to denounce the terrorist tag on them and look ahead of what is about to befall Nigeria if it continues to use the barrel of the gun against an ideology such as Biafra. It is also wise of whoever that advised the Nigeria security heads in Anambra state to stay off the route of those Biafran youths.

Yes, the young men and women were without weapons as usual and their gathering was unannounced and organized. It is obvious that the gathering was not made up of uneducated or unenlightened people but of those conscious enough to do whatever that is right for the restoration of their fatherland. It is no longer news that President Muhammadu Buhari directs mass death upon the people of Biafra because of their desire to seek independence from Nigeria but if he was unable to bury the ideology during the Biafra Genocide of 1967-70 then he is bound to fail again.

The Nigeria armed forces are already overwhelmed by the BokoHaram terrorist group and the Niger Delta militants, the Shittes Islamic sect is gearing for a fight over the shooting and illegal incarceration of their leader El-Zazakay. The Nigeria government will not be able to withstand the crises that is brewing across the country. The highhandedness and killing against innocent and defenceless citizens by the Nigeria security forces must cease and diplomatic approach taken.

The propaganda and lies against the recent protest in Onitsha is a waste of time because the governorship poll in Anambra State will be boycotted. The people of Biafra have rejected the politicking of their rights and destiny by selfish political, traditional aand religious leaders. The right to Self-determination of the Biafra people must be respected for the sake of peaceful coexistence and development or there shall be no peace in the continuous forced unity in Nigeria.
