The
recent directive by the sick President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, to the
Nigeria military chiefs is an indication that the clamor for the restoration of
Biafra anchored by the Indigenous People of Biafra led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is a
huge nightmare to the cabal in the Nigeria government. Buhari has directed the
Nigeria security forces to fight against the people of Biafra seeking the right
to self-determination, forgetting that he went to the UN General Assembly in
2015 and canvassed publicly for the same right to self-determination for the
Palestine and Western Sahara people. According to the hypocritic President of
Nigeria; the right to self-determination is inalienable and should not be
delayed for the sake of peaceful co-existence.
It
is hypocritical that an unarmed Biafra Security Service (BSS) created by IPOB
to curtail the menace of Fulani herdsmen is causing ripples while the
Hisbah/Sharia police operating in the north region of Nigeria for a long time
are not seen as a threat. The Hisbah/Sharia police are actively supported by
the northern religious and political leaders even when their activities are
perpetrated against non-Muslims. It is a fact that the Nigeria security forces
have not been able to protect the Biafra people against the Fulani herdsmen
which make the formation of the BSS a welcome development. The BSS is made up
of unarmed men and women who will basically be involved in intelligence
gathering for the well being of their people.
Nnamdi
Kanu has chosen the path of non-violent for the clamor for self-determination
but as a wise man he knows he is dealing with barbarians in the Nigeria
government. He taught and guided his people to be peaceful even in the face of
provocation but he is not oblivion of the fact that when you push a man to the
wall the only option left for him to be alive is to fight back. The Nigeria
government foolishly thinks Nnamdi Kanu is their problem instead of showing
gratitude to him for been able to hold on to the Biafra people in the face of
brutality and provocation.
From
BokoHaram, Fulani herdsmen and the Nigeria security forces, the people of
Biafra are continually melted with violence and death. The waste of lives of
the people of Biafra seeking to exercise the right to self-determination has
become intolerable and the youths are beginning to lose patience. The question
ringing all around is, “why die as a civilized man when you are given a chance
to die as a warrior?”
The
heartlessness and barbarism against the people of Biafra by the Nigeria
government will not be tolerated for long. The continuous bloodshed of innocent
and defenseless indigenes on their own land is a call for a second genocide
against the people of Biafra and will be resisted in all entireties. The people
of Biafra have never called for war but the Nigeria government has continued to
invoke martial law procedures in Biafra land. Sure, the Nigeria government is
preparing for a second war against the Biafra people and it will be foolish for
them to sit back and do nothing. The international community has continued to
maintain a conspiratory silence even when Amnesty International has indicted
the Nigeria security forces for extra judicial violence and death of Biafrans.
The
recent press release of the Biafra National Guard (BNG) has clearly stated that
the only language the Nigeria government understands better is that of violence
which they plan to bring into play. The highhandedness of the Nigeria
government against peaceful agitators for self-determination will manifest into
a greater menace than BokoHaram that cannot be managed or controlled. The
directive to the military to curb the activities of the people of Biafra
seeking the right to self-determination is a silly decision and every sane mind
must call on the Nigeria government to test its might via a referendum which is
clearly the most peaceful and diplomatic means to forestall the breakdown of
law and order.
