BIAFRA: THOSE PLANNING TO STIFLE AND FIZZLE OUT NNAMDI KANU ARE ADVISED TO ACT CIVIL

Truth be told, I have met one-on-one just once with the leader of IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. It is not because I am restricted from been with him, infact, his lovely mother, Ugoeze Nnenne Kanu, will warmly welcome me If I set feet into the Isiama Afara-Ibeku palace in Umuahia. The reality of the matter is that Nnamdi Kanu has become an institution where people throng daily to receive wisdom, enlighten their intelligence and also get revived mindset.
Sure, the compliance to the 2017 May 30th sit-at-home in commemoration for the Biafra Heroes Remembrance Day has jolted a lot of doubters and oppositions to the struggle for the restoration of Biafra. The Hausa/Fulani youths in a rage ordered for the eviction of Biafrans in the north region before October 1. Notable elders from the northern part of Nigeria backed their hate-filled eviction communiqué. The Acting President Yemi Osibanjo, was propelled to call for a meeting in the Abuja presidential villa with some so-called elites and elders from parts of Biafra. Those who attended the jamboree in Abuja were mandated to publicly reject the clamor for self-determination of their people and they quickly did as told by the cabal in the Nigeria government.
The Indigenous People of Biafra has called for the total boycott of elections organised by the Nigeria government as an act of civil disobedience to show their resolve to opt out of the contraption created by Britain. This decision by IPOB has rattled the country especially the self-serving politicians and office holders of Biafra origin. The resoluteness and formidability of the people of Biafra has forced even the hardliners of the Nigeria polity to join the minority chorus of restructuring. Some have come hard on IPOB and Nnamdi Kanu feeling enraged that the charade status quo observed in Nigeria is been threatened.
Notable is the statement accredited to former president Olusegun Obasanjo, whom have called for the elimination of Nnamdi Kanu by every means possible, he also said the constitution must not be tampered with and the sacrosanctity of Nigeria is foremost. Persons like Obasanjo are responsible for the irredeemable state of Nigeria. The ex-president came out of prison as a broke man who could not afford a paltry twenty thousand naira but after his tenure of eight years he became a multi-billionaire, owning a private university, conglomerates of private companies and oil blocs. Obasanjo actively participated in the Biafra Genocide of 1967-70 and made sure that history and landmarks of the nation, Biafra, were erased and forbidden to speak about. I do not expect any form of intelligence from Obasanjo but calling for the elimination of Nnamdi Kanu by every means smacks of barbarism and wickedness.
Eliminating Nnamdi Kanu by forceful means will definitely plunge Nigeria into a long drawn armed crisis. Several events have revealed that the people of Biafra celebrate him and will not be calmed if any harm is done to him. In fact, he is responsible for bolstering the peaceful approach to self-determination enshrined in the United Nations and African Charter. Amnesty International has indicted the Nigeria security forces for extra-judicial killings and violence against innocent and peaceful Biafrans, yet, they have remained non-violent but more determined in the quest for the restoration of Biafra.
Even a supposed professor of law from the north has called on IPOB to go into guerrilla warfare against the Nigeria armed forces. His call to war according to him is to reveal the seriousness of the people of Biafra in restoring Biafra. Such thoughts coming from a learned fellow is alarming and reveals the urge to massacre Biafrans by the Hausa/Fulani Muslim stock in Nigeria. Self-determination is not a call for war but inalienable rights of indigenous nations to be able to govern and manage their resources by themselves. Referendum is the most diplomatic approach to ascertain the decision of the citizens in every civilized society. Obviously, most of the opposition to Biafra are crusaders for the flagrant abuse of the fundamental rights of the Biafra people.
Shamefully, a well known senator who has spent over eight years in the Senate Chamber in Abuja prefers restructuring instead of the restoration of Biafra. His choice is simply for the preservation of the properties and properties of the Igbo people in other parts of Nigeria. Matter of fact, I expected this senator to be calling for the preservation of the lives of his people continuously been threatened in the force union orchestrated by Fredrick Lugard. Is the continuous massacre in his home state by Fulani herdsmen not enough reason to jettison his hold on properties and investment that could be recovered after the restoration of Biafra? Will lives of innocent and defenceless Biafrans ever be revived as he continues to preach his “One Nigeria” message?
It is saddening that elites and intelligentsia in Nigeria are disconnected from the people and are ignorant of their desires. The forced union in Nigeria is no longer achievable as the people of Biafra are tired of the killings, violence, nepotism and underdevelopment brought forth since the amalgamation of 1914. The Indigenous People of Biafra led by Nnamdi Kanu must be approached with pacification and superior reasoning and not any form of violence. They have shown that they are not deterred by threat or death.
Common sense must prevail for a referendum to be held to avoid another civil war. Biafra is an ideology and can never be crushed by any force; it is not solely about Nnamdi Kanu, but the desires of the people to have the freedom to practice their religion, culture and beliefs without interference and hatred. Whatever plans to slander and eliminate him will surely become propellants to the disintegration of Nigeria.
