Since the past few years, the Indigenous People of Biafra led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu began to agitate peacefully to escape her abusive marriage to Nigeria which was forced by the colonial British government, the responses gotten from the Nigeria government led by Muhammadu Buhari, has been extrajudicial killings, wounding, torturing, abduction and persecution of Biafran activists.
The Indigenous People of Biafra are legally and morally justified in her quest for self-determination. But the Nigeria government in total disregard to the rule of law has continue to torment and spill the blood of innocent Biafrans on the streets of Biafra land and other parts of Nigeria. Buhari viciously ordered the Nigeria Military to attack Biafrans on 30th AUGUST 2015, 17th DECEMBER 2015, FEBRUARY 9th 2016 , the most gruesome and never to be forgotten was the genocide carried out on 30th MAY 2016 Biafra Heroes Day at Nkpor Onitsha. On that day, over six hundred (600) innocent Biafrans lost their lives.
The international community and mainstream media platforms have kept a blind eye on the continuous inhuman and barbaric acts against the people of Biafra. Most of the media houses do not want to report on the gross abuse of human rights perpetrated against the Indigenous People of Biafra by the Nigeria government. The international community has continued to remain mute while watching the brutal killings of Biafrans.
Amnesty International must be highly commended for its forensic investigative report on the killing of hundreds of Biafran activists by the Nigeria Military. The people of Biafra plead with the international community , human rights organization and her media outfits to stop the murderous Nigerian government from violation of our rights to exist as an Indigenous nation. Let the report from Amnesty International get the attention of all men and women of goodwill and good conscience around the globe.
Recently, I spoke to a young Biafran by name Chidozie Onuoha, a victim of the Nkpor Massacre, he spoke as thus: "I can't explain how happy and grateful I am to CHUKWU OKIKE ABIAMA (Almighty God) and AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL because it is now more than one year Buhari kept killing us and we have been observing both local and international law in the quest to restore our nation Biafra which was wrongfully robbed us by the British government." We have been protesting and writing to the world but it seems we have been talking to deaf people. At a point I began to wonder if the international laws, that of United Nations in particular was made for only white people." For me the Amnesty report is a step to justice, though the report said Nigeria army killed 150 but in reality we have recorded the death of over one thousand Biafrans for the past one year." I am convinced that now is the time for the international organizations and mainstream media outfits to break their silence and demand for justice over the extrajudicial execution of innocent Biafrans, Muhammadu Buhari and other collaborators in the Nigeria armed forces must be made to face justice in the International Criminal Court in the Hague."
Furthermore, Chidozie Onuoha said: "we are calling on humanity to hear our cry , all we ask for is the freedom to live, we have nothing in common with hausa/fulani jihadist , we want to govern ourselves, do I need remind the world that forced unity is slavery?" It is high time the world placed our rights as a people above peanut from Nigeria government, the mainstream media houses should go on investigative journalism and tell the world the truth about our suffering in Biafra land." We also appeal to governments from around the world both outgoing and incoming administration to look into our plight, the world must consolidate on the integrity of Amnesty International and allow justice to prevail," he cried out.
