ECOWAS Community Court
BIAFRA: ECOWAS COURT MUST NOT FALL PREY LIKE THE NIGERIA JUDICIARY

After the intimidation and undermining of the independence of the Nigeria Judiciary by President Muhammadu Buhari, the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, have expressed her lack of confidence in the Nigeria legal system in relation to the case of her Leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Buhari has harassed and compromised every judges handling the case, and still went ahead to appoint his relative and wife of his political associate, Justice Binta Nyako, to handle the case. There are fears that his action is in a bid to murder justice and fair trial.

For over a year, the Nigeria Judiciary is not still able to deliver judgment on the case against Nnamdi Kanu due to executive interference. It is obvious that fair justice in West Africa now depends on the ECOWAS court. Recall the case of Nnamdi Kanu Vs the Federal Government of Nigeria in ECOWAS court, over his continuous detention after court orders for his release was disobeyed; the Nigeria government was absent in court at first and when its attorney finally appeared, he asked for adjournment to change trial charges after failing to prove his case that the court lacked jurisdiction to attend to the case.

The Nigeria government has made efforts to compromise and  intimidate the ECOWAS court like they manipulated the Nigeria Judiciary. I want to remind the ECOWAS court on the deep need for a fair trial for justice to prevail. Biafrans are outraged at the subjugation of justice in Nigeria as justice is freely given to the highest bidder. The people of Biafra want the truth to prevail in the case of Nnamdi Kanu. The ECOWAS court of justice must protect her role in upholding the rights of people from violation especially by the government. The world as usual is watching the ECOWAS court as the case of Nnamdi Kanu Vs the Nigeria government continues. Justice delayed is Justice denied.
