The statements issued by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu defence counsels during their press conference in Abuja on Friday the 12th of August 2016 were received with greater dismay which leads to immediate dismissal of some individual in the team hours after the press conference because those statements are misleading, sabotage and also seen as destructive. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu (Onyendu) and the entire leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB frown at this development and wasted no time to sacked them.
A lawyer’s duty to his client is to represent the interest of his client and communicate with the public according to the brief and instructions received from him. Therefore, anything detracting from this time tasted usage in the legal profession just amounts to a breach of trust.
On the date above, the legal team of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu made some factually incorrect assertion to the effect that their client the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) “Onyendu” Mazi Nnamdi Kanu disassociated himself from fellow Biafran Freedom Fighters, the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA). There needs to state unequivocally that nothing is further from the fact and the truth as this misinformation that emanated from the legal representative because they have either deliberately or carelessly went beyond the brief to dabble into issues that are not within their area of service. The result of this false representation of facts is the immediate termination of the services of one member of the legal team.
The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) “Onyendu” Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has never minced words when he said on different occasions that the restoration of the sovereignty of the Biafran Nation is a project ordained in heaven and a task assigned to him by CHUKWUOKIKEABIAMA and cannot, therefore, be derailed by either explicit or implicit acts of mortal men. It is with this understanding that IPOB which he leads state without any equivocation that the only negotiation that should be undertaken is that talk that deals exclusively with modalities and procedures for the restoration of Biafran sovereignty and independence.
The emergence of the Niger Delta Avengers NDA is a natural outcome of decades of intrinsic injustice that abound in the contraption called Nigeria where the rule of law is nonexistent. Flagrant disobedience to competent judicial command by Hitler Buhari’s and refusal to obey the order of the court to release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu unconditionally is a fact to this state of lawlessness. It's necessary to remind everyone that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu ideology is the same ideology being implemented by the leadership of IPOB. Therefore as indicated by IPOB that Biafra freedom movement is anchored on an ideology that is propelling them and NDA in pursuit of the same objective.
Any group of individuals or organisation overtly or covertly disassociating IPOB from Niger Delta Avengers freedom fighter would become an enemy of IPOB led by Nnamdi Kanu. IPOB stated explicitly that any legal representative of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu must not only believe in his ideology but must also exhibit that belief in words and action because this is the only way to appropriately and diligently represent him in the court.
For the benefit of those who may be wondering or misconstrue the purpose of that infamous press conference, the brief was to expose and bring to the public the stupidity of the Nigerian Department of State Security services (SSS) in charging Mazi Nnamdi Kanu treasonable felony offence. An accusation that has no merit and evidence.
The legal team has no mandated to go beyond the stated purpose and shouldn't have gone beyond their legal representation to dabble into issues about negotiation with govt and IPOB support of NDA freedom fighter. The issue of negotiation is unnecessary at this point as long as the Mazi Nnamdi Kanu remains illegally held against his will even when all court pronouncements in his favour are yet to be honoured by Hitler Buhari.
Provisionally, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor continues to lead the legal team while Mr Nzelu a member of the team remained sack, pending his replacement with someone who will sell his soul to the devil for material or fame. Therefore IPOB shall not retreat nor surrender in their match to freedom.
When IPOB say “Biafra or death,” they are merely taken the position of courage and determination like their forefathers.
