Amnesty International latest report show Nigerian government has intensified murder, kidnapping and forceful disappearance of Biafrans.

The most recent news is the abduction of Sunday chucks Obasi 30-year-old Biafran was abducted from his hometown of Amuko Nnewi in Anambra state by Nigerian security agents(DSS). The report said the abductors came with govt registration number plate.

According to Amnesty International publication, "PRO-BIAFRAN ACTIVIST SHOT AND ABDUCTED: SUNDAY CHUCKS OBASI" on August 26th,2016 Sunday Chucks Obasi (30), a pro-Biafran activist, was kidnapped by five armed men suspected to be security
agents at about 9 pm on 16 August from the front of his home in Amuko Nnewi, Anambra State.
  • "According to his family members and other witnesses, the five armed men in two SUV vehicles, one of them bearing a government registration number plate, ambushed Sunday Chucks Obasi as he drove into his compound at about 9 pm. They said that the men shot him, then put him in one of the vehicles and drove away".

The report further said family members and friends who came out after the shooting saw blood and empty bullet shells on the ground in front of Sunday Chucks Obasi’s house as well as near his vehicle.

Sunday Chucks Obasi’s whereabouts remain unknown, but witnesses including family members reported that he was arrested. The family made inquiries in several police stations in Anambra state but was told that he is not in their custody. This has raised fears that the authorities have subjected him to enforced disappearance, and he may be at increased risk of torture or death in detention the report said.

The abduction by Nigerian govt security agents targeted against Biafrans is widespread.

In a similar development, Biafra reporters confirmed that Ikechukwu Ugwuoha, Asochukwu Ugochukwu, Sunday J. Okafor, Joseph Okorie and Ekene Onuoha was also abducted on August 25th, 2016 in Aba Abia state.

Their abduction came days after Ikechukwu Ugwuoha and other Biafrans was released unconditionally from Abia state prison at the order of Attorney General of Nigeria. Their freedom came after many months of detention on concocted treasonable felony charges against them by DSS was thrown out.

Since August 2015 several IPOB members and supporters have been murdered, arrested, and detained while engaging in peaceful protests. Dozens of IPOB members and supporters have also been arrested from their homes.

Therefore IPOB call the attention of govt of the world and human rights organisation to condemn this criminal act of Buhari and his DSS.

They should pressure Nigerian govt to disclose immediately the whereabouts and fate of all those they kidnapped, and if they are detained, they should release them unconditionally because they have not committed any recognizable criminal offence known to any law. It's not an offence to campaign for self-determination within the international law.

These kidnappings and summary executions of Biafrans must stop.
