DOS Declares Chuks Egwuatu Wanted Over Alleged Hijacking of IPOB Agricultural Produce
Mazi Chuks Egwuatu, a young member reportedly entrusted with the management of an agricultural initiative established under the leadership of the Directorate of State (DOS), led by Mazi Chika Edoziem, has been accused of allegedly diverting and attempting to hijack more than 20,000 tonnes of rice produce from the project.
The allegations were made by Mazi Chinasa Nworu during a live Radio Biafra podcast on August 8, 2026.
According to Nworu, the agricultural initiative was established primarily as a humanitarian intervention designed to support less-privileged members of IPOB, particularly widows who lost their husbands and families who lost loved ones during the Biafra struggle. He further stated that part of the agricultural produce was intended to support the feeding requirements of the Eastern Security Network (ESN).
Nworu explained that members of the Biafran diaspora were actively encouraged to contribute financially to the initiative, with the funds reportedly used to finance the project from the planting season through harvesting.
According to his account, the leadership subsequently appointed Chuks Egwuatu as a caretaker responsible for the agricultural produce. However, following the harvest, allegations reportedly emerged that Egwuatu began selling portions of the rice without proper authorization or accountability for the proceeds.
Nworu further alleged that while the leadership was attempting to investigate the matter and establish accountability, Egwuatu allegedly fled to Sokoto, where he sought the assistance of Benjamin Madubugwu, described by Nworu as one of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's close associates.
He further alleged that Egwuatu attempted to use the rival Sokoto-based leadership structure as a shield against accountability and sought authorization from Kanu to take control of the remaining agricultural produce under his custody.
DOS Issues Ultimatum
According to Nworu, who identified himself as a member of the DOS under the leadership of Mazi Chikadibia Edoziem and also as the General Commanding Officer of ESN, Chuks Egwuatu has been declared wanted in connection with the allegations.
Nworu reportedly gave Egwuatu until September 2026 to account for the agricultural produce allegedly placed under his care.
He further claimed that failure to provide a satisfactory account could result in Egwuatu losing whatever protection or security assurances he presently enjoys, while alleging that IPOB intelligence operatives are already monitoring his movements.
Nworu additionally alleged that Egwuatu is currently hiding in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
It is important to stress that the allegations contained in this report are claims attributed to Mazi Chinasa Nworu during the August 8 broadcast and have not been independently verified by The Biafra Post. Chuks Egwuatu should be given an opportunity to respond to the allegations and present his own account of the agricultural project, the harvested produce and any financial transactions associated with it.
The central question now remains: What happened to the agricultural produce reportedly entrusted to Egwuatu, and can a full account of the project be established?
