This month stands as a sacred season of
remembrance, reflection, and honour—a time dedicated to the memory of those who paid the ultimate price so that future generations might live with dignity, identity, and hope.
We remember the men, women, and children who suffered unimaginable pain… those who were raped, killed, bombarded, imprisoned, butchered, maimed, and starved simply because they dared to stand for freedom. We remember those who fought with courage even when they lacked ammunition—those who defended their homeland with nothing but determination, sticks, machetes, and unshakable faith throughout three difficult years of war.
They are our heroes.
They are our heroines.

They are our eternal symbols of sacrifice.
For decades, the world has refused to acknowledge their pain. Many denied that what happened was genocide. Their stories were not properly told. Their sacrifices were not adequately honoured. Our history was silenced, our identity questioned, and the memory of over six million souls lost during the civil war of 1967–1970 was pushed aside.
But it is now our duty—our moral responsibility—to ensure they are never forgotten.
We must remind the world that their sacrifices still matter. We must show that we value them, respect them, and honour them. We must tell their stories. We must let the world know how deeply wounded and heartbroken we remain over the brutal massacre of innocent people whose only desire was freedom and survival.
May 30th is their official day of remembrance, but their memories must live throughout this entire month and beyond. We also remember all those who have lost their lives in the struggle from August 30th, 2015, till this day.
They must be remembered.
They must be honoured.
They must never be forgotten.

Use every platform available to you—your voice, your writings, your social media, your emails, your messages—to tell the world that this month is dedicated to those who paid the price for the cause they believed in.

Let their sacrifices speak through us.
Let their memories live through us.
Let history never be erased.
For if we fail to honour those who came before us, future generations may fail to honour us.
They paid a price that must forever be cherished, remembered, and valued.
