In a time as this, while Biafrans remembers and reflects on  the Igbo age long  struggle to survive in a country forced on them by Britain and maintained by the blood of her people, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu stands trial for same cause which our forefathers died holding on to.

This years heroes month comes in a very spectacular way as Mazi Nnamdi Kanu who is unarguably the present face of the Igbo struggle for breath in their space is being persecuted in an illegal trial with sole aim of forcing guilt on him and sending him to prison..

Recall that since  over 10 years ago that   Mazi Nnamdi Kanu  are being  persecuted by the Nigerian government over his call for the freedom of his people who are being gravely marginalised, killed, persecuted and politically sidelined in the Nigerian union.

The Igbo people were in 1966 massacred in many parts of Nigeria especially the Northern region over popular coup that targeted corrupt Nigeria politicians.

Following the massacre, Igbos retreated to their home base and decided to take their destiny into their hand in a free nation devoid of Fulani control, to this they were met with more federal military bombardment aided by foreign powers championed by United Kingdom.

The Biafra men fought gallantrily  for three years with locally made weapons, won many battles but capitulated when they couldn't stand the strength of the whole world coming down on a tiny entity with nothing but home made weapons.

After the war, the Nigerian regime led by Yakubu Gowon declared a no victor, no vanquish order which he claimed to be followed by reconstruction, rehabilitation and reconciliation. He did the opposite of his words anyway as Igbos were further suppressed by making sure they lost all their money in the bank, their properties and positions in civil service.

From 1970 after the war till date, the Igbos remained treated as  a people conquered in war who are meant to be perpetual slaves in the country they contribute immensely for her growth.

They are killed at will, their entire regions militarised more than any place in the world.

The injustice our forefathers fought, the deliberate plot to cut off the Igbo race from the surface of the earth and the unending marginalisation is what Mazi Nnamdi Kanu saw and stood in the gap for the sake of his people.

Tomorrow as we go into  day two of the heroes month, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu shall be standing a political  trial this time in a supposed court of law.

The script already beautiful and diplomatically written to favour the Federal powers.

Remember that this case has been struck out by appeal court with Mazi Nnamdi Kanu declared discharged and acquitted, order which the Federal government only disobeyed yet return to the same court to have Nnamdi Kanu tried according to their own scripts.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu shall be standing a terrorism  trial on 2nd and 6th May 2025 for having in his possession broadcasting tools and for calling his people to defend themselves against Fulani terrorists that are on rampage even till tomorrow.

The game is to get Nnamdi Kanu jailed and then have him compromise his position and set free on ground of  Amnesty grant

We are keenly watching as Nigeria has failed to understand that no force on earth can stop an idea whose time has come.

If after 50 years of Biafra Nigeria war, the Igbo man is still resistant to oppression, suppression, depression and marginalisation, what made them think it will ever go away.

#Free Mazi Nnamdi Kanu
