Here is the summary of how it happened on the court case of Mazi  Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB leader and the extraordinary rendition by Nigeria Government

It started this way: "We are not going to tolerate any form of violence from the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) today. The security personnel are already on ground to deal with anyone who tries to ferment trouble within the court premises.

"This is a just warning signal we are passing across to them because offenders will be severely punished." ~Abubakar Malami (SAN)

On the D-day, Abuja airport was already occupied by International bodies ahead of Kanu vs Nigeria Government case .

Tension became so high that roadblocks were mounted everywhere. Someone screamed: Come to Abuja and see for yourself, the spirit is high and so intoxicated.

It came to an extent that the Nigerian SSS invaded hotels, arrested two Americans for taking pictures of Federal High Court.

A Fulani Police Officer threatened Biafrans at Federal High Court Abuja with a pistol gun. He insisted that they should leave the Court premises. Some Biafrans were however arrested, and taken to unknown destination but unconfirmed report has it that they were later released .

Yet other IPOB members, Biafrans and supporters stood their ground despite  of the intimidation.

Inside the court room were ex-Anambara State Governor, Chief Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife sitted and was waiting for the court proceedings.

Interestingly, some Northerners came all the way from Kano State to stand in solidarity with Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

When asked why? They said  Mazi Nnamdi Kanu means well for the entire Nigerians and through him, every indigenous Nigerians will be free.

Also, Ogene Music dancers were seen heading to the premises of Federal High Court Abuja drumming support for Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

Few minutes after, Sowore took another maximum support for Kanu as he appeared in court on Red Cap, but madly, the DSS arrested Sowore who came to cover MNKs trial, he  was brutally beaten up and his cameras seized but was later released aftermath of the courts adjournment.

Later, a black Toyota SUV appeared, as people were in high expectancy that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has just been brought to court by DSS.

When Journalists tried to find their way in, they were barred from covering event.

ABOUT MEDIA COVERAGE

The DSS shut the door on CNN international, Al Jazeera English, BBC, FRANCE 24, Voice of America - VOA, Fox News, CBN News, CNTV and all international TV and radio stations over Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's trial, but  allowed BBC Hausa Service.

This is the reason, Amnesty International quickly issued a Press Release, and condemned Nigerian authorities for  restriction of the number of journalists that can report the trial of the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, saying the trial is a restriction on access to information and an attempt to deny people the right to know. It also violates all fair hearing guarantees.

We call on the Nigerian authorities to respect the right to fair hearing and immediately lift the restriction and allow the media unhindered access to the court to do their job. This is yet another bizarre and unacceptable attack on the Nigerian media that must not stand  amnesty international stated .

However, after waiting for Kanu to show face, the Federal High Court led by Binta Nyako adjourned  the case till 21st of October, 2021.

She warned: I would not continue this trial in absence of defendant Mazi Nnamdi Kanu  -Justice Binta Nyako fumes on DSS for not producing Nnamdi Kanu.

Case adjourned till October 21st .

-Good bye from Abuja, till October.
