May 16,2018 North / South Korea leaders –Kin Joung Un and Moon Jae-In respectively, demonstrated prosperity, good fortune can be achieved in a serene conducive atmosphere they proven to be civilized to the world despite, war drums beat by both sides. Long enduring political differences and confrontation over Korea Peninsula has replaced with peace, tranquility with effective implementation of the agreement reached the summit. Irrespective of chemical weapons manufactured by both nations yet, they still applied diplomacy/dialogue as the best medium of unification towards common goals than tasting their military might. They were neither pushed nor deceived to back down on their patient for dialogue, the first meeting of both leaders rejuvenated the spirit of amity among the two nations amidst of military tension never guaranteed peace and stability. Disarmament and arms control by these leaders reintroduced West Sea into a Maritime Peace Zone, for the first time military authorities on both sides immediately agreed to hold frequent meetings, the first convenes this May to solve military issues. What a good move! Can Nigeria lead by Buhari turn the unnatural state of armistice against Biafra into a peace treaty? The irreconcilable joint force history in Nigeria, that promotes ethnocentrism, religious intolerance since her creation precludes unification among the diversify nations that consist of Nigeria. Unlike Nigeria, North /South Korea’s have the same historical tier, common value system, socialization and blood relations, banning of nuclear weapons against each other becomes possible to access easily. Notwithstanding, unification of both nations was not by force or under duress, consultation and dialogue are a synonym to democratic ways of diplomacy which was taken into action to rectify the misunderstanding. Very unfortunate, Nigeria government prefers force to scuttle Biafra at the detriment of her collective interest. It does not matter how Nigeria sees it or suitable language she understands very well, war is not an option for tranquility and a call for a referendum is not a call for war. Rather, it is in line with international law and standard in any democratic dispensation to allow eligible electorates to make decisions on national issues. Bold historical steps taken by North / South Korea’s are far beyond the drain democracy in Nigeria, her persistence crumbles were leaders inability to take a sensitive step that brings peace and harmony in the country. Her conglomerate structure cannot be unified as it is in Korea Peninsula due to their unify perception, reasoning and interrelated blood relations should the reverse becomes the case, like in Nigeria, both leaders may voluntarily separate peacefully because of value they have for life not minding missiles at their disposal. They drummed for war but no record of blowing either Anti Ballistic Missiles or Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles that flush entire nation within a twinkle of an eye from both sides. So shameful, a country without own military hardware and well train personnel buys ammunitions from other countries to kill her citizens on daily basis with little or no provocation. Biafra agitation ought to have been a history should Nigeria leaders allows contemporary diplomatic conflict management/resolution takes it place. The then Nigeria Military Head of State Yakubu Gowon, flouted Aburi Accord agreement in Ghana, which resulted in civil war, the same mistake is repeating itself if time not taken. A country that learns nothing from her past historical mistakes is bounded to repeat the same misfortune. Military invasion in IPOB leader’s residence to kill him by all means in the guise of Operation Python Dance II without a court order was typical evidence that Nigeria led by Buhari is not an advocate of democracy and not yet ready to respect peace treaty. Nigerians were calling for the implementation of sovereign National Conference organized by his predecessor Goodluck Jonathan, till date nothing has been done for their quest.

Had it been Biafrans were given the privilege to decide through democratic referendum international disgrace upon her could have averted, double standard plays by Nigeria leaders make foreign actors question if really so-called giant of Africa leaders are educated to understand modern comparative politics, politically people disagree to agree but when agreement and peace are not forthcoming disintegrations, dissolution and separation become inevitable in order to maintain good neighborhood than holding people in hostage.
