Daddy Freeze is simply foolish because he threw away the baby and the bath water and even the mother- the moment he said stop tithing. Let me kindly define the word fool- ish; it is primarily or contexually defined as somebody that is doing something or saying something he thought is right without knowing is wrong. As for the proceeds of tithe; Nigerian pastors deserve to be mobbed because they are thieves.

I believe in the existence of spirit and that is the singular reason I worship Chukwu Okike Abiama (God); I simply believe there is a supreme spirit. Just like there is a physical world; there is also a spiritual world and like Donald Trump is the leader or the strongest, spiritually, there is a supreme leader (spirit) who has been since creation. Spiritual controls physical but spirit world needs our world to work; by committing tithe to any spirit or altar; I am simply giving the altar charge over where that money came from and that tithe is the connection (It’s called Aja in Igbo language). Believe you me; the altar will take charge but when there is not tithe, then there is no extraordinary commitment or connection and grace is all I have. Daddy Freeze has a lot to learn about spirituality because he has learned quite a lot about physical tithing. But for any pastor that uses tithe to buy private jet and live luxurious life; God dey o!

Before you tag me a pro-Christian or pro- General overseers, I want to first make it clear that I am not a Christian even though I used to be. I practice indigenous religion; it is a kind of religion that believes in the direct worship of God De father by following in the footsteps of my forefathers starting from Abraham to the least. Yes; Yashua (Christ) did quite great things on earth but nothing is worth diverting worship of Chukwu Okike Abiama (God) through a prophet like Yashua (Christ). The difference between me and a contemporary Christian is mode of worship; if Yashua (Christ) is a Jew and the descendant of Abraham, then there is no doubt that he is indigenous to me and I could follow his footsteps. I won’t digress; this column will discuss on a topic “CHRISTIANITY IS NOT THE PROBLEM”.
The concept of tithing is something that transcends beyond physical or church thing; when we mention church, no matter how corrupt we might view it, it is yet a spiritual thing. Daddy Freeze took an extremely carnal position and he has stood upon that firmly. I love his guts and criticisms which can bring about a healthy practice. The total condemnation of tithing instead of critically looking into the proceeds of the tithe is where Daddy Freeze entirely got it wrong. The argument was supposed to be on the proceeds of tithe and not tithing itself.

I am not a good reader of the bible and as such, I don’t found my argument on it; the alteration of the Bible which was championed by New Testament (Roman Empire) neutralized my passion for Bible. I was to be like David that fought Goliath and not like Peter that prayed Goliath. I want to be like my forefathers; the likes of Abraham, Isaac, Moses, Joshua etc. With this; I believe I have convinced you that my essay is nothing but pursuing truth. If I have my way; Christians will be locked up in rehabilitation centers for them to regain sense.

On religion; nobody has monopoly of knowledge and as such, I have learned to always believe in spirituality. I will continue to respect any religion and allow people to their perceived best practice because religion will continue to carry a question only the dead can answer but because the dead will never come back, it even made religion yet mysterious. I don’t see why a religion that doesn’t infringe on human rights should be attacked but as for Islam, I will always oppose it due to the fact I was made an infidel that deserves not to live by Koran. The best way to getting the best is by debate; we continue to debate until superior reason prevails.

Daddy Freeze recently came up with issue of tithe and General Overseers have reacted childishly to that. The opinion of one man cannot likely affect millions that pay millions of Naira as tithe which they do because it works for him. Most people believe that once they pay their tithe, more doors open to them and maybe it has been working which make them to continue paying tithe. Tithing is a spiritual order of commitment; if Pastors abuse it, is not enough reason to condemn tithing. In the olden days; we meet a deity and say do this for me and if it is done, I will always bring you 20% percent from it and then we see it working, a church could be a deity on a different level.

Columnists have abstained from this issue of tithe; while those that kicked toed same path with Daddy freeze, but that is alright because these pastors have done more harm than good to us. You cannot be using private jet and owning best cars while the sheep you shepherd have nothing; that is rather a selfish act. Pastors must change and try to re-invest tithe; tithe can be invested now is huge on road construction and charity. Had they re-invested peoples’ tithe; nobody will bother much about their private jets and so on. However; Tithe is more of a spiritual thing and that is what Daddy Freeze failed to comprehend; when you take percentage of your income into something or somewhere that has spiritual connection, something will happen, that altar you tithe upon will always fight for you, that is a basic truth, and that is why it is not good to discourage people from paying tithe on their spiritual arena. Things might be okay for you even though you don’t pay tithe but grace differs. Where one’s spirituality lies; there is need to pay tithe there. if your spirituality lies in your church, I encourage you to pay your tithe there. If it lies in a shrine at the back of your house, pay your tithe there. If it lies at a native doctor’s home, pay your tithe there and if lies in Biafra as a spirit, please pay your tithe in Biafra treasury and you will be shielded from curses or affliction by the spirit.

Daddy Freeze went as far as challenging Pastors to a debate but nobody showed up because they would definitely be flawed; they will turn to the bible and the bible will contradict them because New Testament is filled with contradiction. I am not here to help those unfaithful pastors; but as much as I know, the problem of Christianity is not the religion itself but those practicing the religion.

Finally; the meeting of Umunna in our various villages, there is a due people pay at the end of the month to keep the organization running and a church is also an organization. According to the bible, the purpose of tithe is to have food in the household of the lord; a pastor or Bishop or Rev father may have no time to do business as he faces the work of God, of course, tithe is needed for food in the house of their God. Tithe is very important for the running of affairs of the church and also important for any spirit guiding the church to always stand in the gap for you. Tithe is more or less a spiritual commitment that gives the spirit the tithe is given charge of your endeavor or where the money for the tithe came from.

  1. Sir,
With all due respect,I please want to put some things straight, you already made it clear, that you are not a good reader of the Bible. So on that,am stateing Daddy Freez is right. We all growing up noticed it but not privilege to say any thing;but thank God is out today.all what we have to do is to understand freez's aguement,he is not saying that,we should'nt give for the things of God,rather his stand is this, the tithing(the law obligation) is not for us as Christians. The Christians don't pay tithe, rather we give,as a Christian, no body pushes you to give, why, because we are not under the law any longer, but on the other hand, you pay tithe because you are under the law. Now if we say that we are all Christians in today's dispensation, then let us live the tithing to the owners, that is the jews whom God gave the law.If you check throughout the New testerment, you find out that it wasn't mentioned by the apostles who brought the gospel to us, but only Jesus our lord used it against the phareases, and not as other to the Church, which was not yet come to existence then.God bless.....
