BIAFRA: BRIDGE AND SHOPS IN RUMUOKWURUSI - OBIO/AKPOR COLLAPSES DURING FLOODING

Chima Onyekachi - Reporting for Biafra Reporters (The Biafra Post)

A residence destroyed by flood
While the Impostor impersonating the alleged dead President of Nigeria is celebrating the Eid al-Adha holidays in his hometown of Daura, Katsina state, most parts of the British contraption is been wrecked with deaths and destructions as a result of flooding. From Niger State to Igweocha (Port Harcourt) the flooding has continued without any form of humanitarian aid or support to the affected indigenes and residents of the affected areas. Rather Impostor - Buhari was reported to have chosen to go on a state visit to the US at this critical time in the lives of those who are suppose to be citizens and their survival should be a priority. The same US the dictatorial Buhari is running to visit is also suffering from the natural disaster of flooding.

The US President Donald Trump and his wife have visited the affected areas of flooding in the US and also assisted as voluteers but the man in mask as the Nigeria President Buhari is nowhere in sight in any of the flood scenes neither has he deemed it fit to send any representative. Even the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) are said to be on holidays and will not attend to any request from donors until after the public holidays and it also takes over two months for donations to be approved. Such shame!

Damaged road by flooding
In Rumuokwurusi community of Obio/Akpor L.G.A in Rivers State of Biafra land, the flooding did not spare the bridge linking the community to the popular “OIL MILL MARKET” usually held every Wednesday of the week. Speaking to an eyewitness, Alwell Amadi, an indigene of the community who sent in on the spot pictures of the destruction, he expressed shock over the destruction caused by the floods and pleaded for quick government attention to avert vehicular accident and total destruction of the bridge. Also destroyed were parts of the popular GSM village across the Port Harcourt/Aba expressway opposite the MTN office.

Another prominent indigene of the community who pleaded anonymity and spoke exclusively to Chima Onyekachi of Biafra Reporters simply said he has lost hope in government intervention for the flood victims and is calling on the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, to assist in the repair of parts of the bridge and road affected by the flooding as they have exhibited in Umuahia recently. The source also revealed that the intervention of the traditional leader of the community helped in lessening the effect of the flooding as he had earlier employed contractors that cleared the debris and refuse that were dumped into the river and would have affected the free flow of the river. The community plays host to many oil and construction companies notably Intels and Shell whom have remained silent and dumb to the situation.

As the community gears towards the election of a new youth leader, it is paramount the youths chose a people oriented candidate. Also the candidates must be aware that in Biafra land, the power belongs to the people and they must be conscious of alleviating their youths and developing the community or else they will have themselves to be blamed at this critical time of Nigeria’s polity.
