Mazi Nnamdi Kanu; IPOB Supreme being blessed by Prof. Ben Nwabueze; on a day he paid him a courtesy visit
The President of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo, has certainly ruffled the minds of the people of Biafra seeking their right to self-determination. He is entitled to his own opinion, sure, not every man in Nigeria is capable of openly declaring his desire of opting out of the forced unity orchestrated by Britain even if it is an utmost desire.

I am well aware that in Nigeria, those seeking the right to self-determination are tagged as rebels and illegally tried for treason. Thousands of Biafrans have been arrested, imprisoned and even killed for their support for the restoration of Biafra. Nnia Nwodo should have tacitly pressured on the report of Amnesty International indicting the Nigeria security for mass extra judicial killing and violence against innocent and peaceful Biafrans seeking their right to self-determination as enshrined in the United Nations charter.

The Southeast governors, Ohaneze Ndigbo and so called elites in Biafra Land are still wallowing in ignorance over the true desire of the people they claim to lead. Out of fright and mostly greed, these so called religious, political and religious leaders have jettison the rights of their people for personal and selfish ambitions. Is referendum not a peaceful and civil manner to ascertain the desire of the Indigenous People of Biafra?

Why is the hate-filled eviction notice given by Hausa/Fulani youths against Biafrans in the north region being swept under the carpet and the boycott of elections in Nigeria by IPOB is seen as an affront? It is a shame that these malicious utterances against Biafrans in support for the restoration is coming at the same time the northern elders are demanding for the total rejection of the clamor by elders in Biafra Land.

Restructuring is never a solution to the forced unity of over a hundred years that has brought forth nothing but killings, violence, marginalization, nepotism and underdevelopment. The northern oligarchy has continued with the mantra of the non-negiotiability of the contraption named Nigeria, they are not even interested in the deceptive restructuring. They do not want any change to the constitution as written by their military kinsmen for it suits their feudal system of government and their love for oppression. The few section in the constitution that obliges civility is never obeyed or respected by the cabal in the Nigeria government, rather sharia law is smuggled into civil cases.

Why seek restructuring with the same bandits that have always stalled the implementation of numerous reports of National Conference held for the sake of peaceful coexistence in Nigeria? The well structured Aburi Accord agreed by Ojukwu and Gowon was thrown out and a well cordinated pogrom against the people of Biafra from 1967-70 was organised by the Nigeria government actively supported by Britain, and will not be easily forgotten.

BokoHaram and Fulani herdsmen terrorist groups have wrecked wanton havoc against innocent citizens, in their quest for an Islamic caliphate, but are never seen as threat to the unity of Nigeria. In fact, those arrested are never prosecuted but are been released and given amnesty by the Nigeria government and there have never been any condemnation from the northern elders and youths.

IPOB has been peaceful and never violent in seeking the right to self-determination. The boycott of election in Nigeria is a practise of civil disobedience and it is in tandem with international law and never a call to violence. The people of Biafra have chosen to boycott every election organised by the Nigeria government until a referendum is brought forth. The non-participation in Nigeria elections is not an incitement to violent but a show of awakeness of the consciousness to the sham been perpetrated against Biafrans. The people of Biafra have realized that the leaders produced for them via the ballots organised by the Nigeria government do not serve their interest and have decided to have a sit-in during election as a form of protests. Very simple!

Those against the boycott of Nigeria elections should take their message to the nook and crannies of Biafra land to have a better understanding of the feelings of the people. Instead of cheap blackmail and slandering against Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB, I advise they start a restructuring movement and garner your own supporters. Having secret meetings to decide the fate of Biafrans is no longer acceptable, the choice of the people in the forced union must be decided civilly via referendum.
