BIAFRA: KEEPING OFF FROM THE BLOODY POLLING UNITS

Just as the declaration of no election in Biafraland starting with Anambra state by the leader of IPOB Mazi Nnamdi kanu, continues to receive appraisals both constructive and destructive, it is important that we point out some factors pertaining to that very issue of election boycott in Biafra land.

Some individuals had taken it upon themselves to brand the call for election boycott different names, some say it is illegal, others claim it violates human right, disenfranchisement of citizens; lots of Nigerians quoting different laws.
Such baffles the even common man on the street because there is no known law in Nigeria or the world over where it is a must for people to participate in electioneering process not to talk of people that have lost total confidence in the system. Boycott of election remains classified under civil disobedience which is alternative means of protest where street peaceful protest had failed or better still miscontrued; it remains a situations whereby agitated civilians willingly refuse to participate in election for the very fact of lack of confidence and trust in the system that be.

Come to think of it, after 54 years of Nigeria partial independence from her colonial lord the British government, there had been countless numbers of elections and change of government both military and civil yet the problem of the entity instead of being solved, gets worse by the day. There had been trillions of electioneering promises and party manifestos that had till date only existed on papers.

It is of importance to correct the impression that boycotting of election in Biafra land means that our people just lost confidence in the system, our people lost confidence in the system many years ago but kept participating because of peanuts they gain during elections and the fact that there was no trusted hand to champion the cause of a possible revolution...

It will amount to hypocrisy on the parts of the proponents of Biafra restoration to participate in the electioneering process; we cannot afford to elect politicians who will swear an oath to defend the same military constitution that is caging us. Even as they come out to campaign with Biafra ideology.

Boycotting of election by majority of the people that made up Biafra will once again prove to the world that Biafrans are ready to be free from Nigeria. Just as the indigenous people of Biafra has the right to vote so do they also have the right to withhold their mandate.

Some free thinkers had argued that there is no cause for alarm that even when the people exercise their civic right, it remains charade and hypocrisy if the whole system since their vote doesn't count; so there is no need for the power mongers crying because the people wishes to express their stand on the entity called Nigeria.

We wish to state categorically that nobody is being coerced to stay away from the polling units but the people are voluntarily going to withdraw their mandate as it is their right to do so.

Logically speaking, priority demands that the people should have an organised state before the government for the government is the machinery of the state not the other way round.

Nigeria should not continue being obstinate and do the needful which is referendum.
It is not about Mazi Nnamdi Kanu but the millions of his people behind his ideology, you can't battle with a determined generation.

God bless biafra!!!!
