BIAFRA: AS THE SUN RISES IN BIAFRA MAY IT BRIGHTEN UP THE NIGER DELTA

"Oh hope, here cometh thou! Freedom, Oh freedom, how resplendent and sweet smelling thou art!  The sun shone brighter when every attempt by the bought-over Justice Nyako to incriminate the prophet of our time fell on rock. The target had become the sniper, as we watched the quaking caused by his military-styled and unlawful trial have its toll on Buhari's health. As the VOICE edged towards his freedom, his captor - Buhari - edged towards his TOMB. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu became the torchbearer of our time. In our time, a replica of Nelson Mandela has come" - Russell Bluejack

Russell Bluejack; paying his respect to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu; IPOB Leader & Director of Radio Biafra / Biafra Television
He was heard doing a postmortem on radio: one voice, many listeners. The VOICE was stentorian and the sound wave therefrom bore something grotesque to the contraption called Nigeria- the truth. We would stay glued to our radio every evening, waiting for the oratory crusader to sermonize and conduct surgery on Nigeria, exhuming her history which clearly makes her a far cry from nation. Most exhilarating was his prayers, for he would call God all the historical names, giving us all a feel of what the intended purpose - restoration of Biafra - would look like. He was and still is the Director of IPOB, His Highness, Nnamdi Kanu. He was and still is the VOICE that has become an incubus to the Futa Jalons. He is the indelible scar on the serrated bodies and scabrous skins of those for whom Lord Lugard amalgamated this pot-pourri of discordant cultures, values, religions, and worldviews called Nigeria. No dictator can break a determined spirit.

Lovers of the Land of the Rising Sun had all been cocooned by the nefarious activities of R. Uwazuruike, the erstwhile leader of MASSOB, who buckled under the pressure of politics. For many a Biafra hopeful,  the sun had set even before it rose and the golden dream would remain real only when the eyelids are shut. MASSOB became a shadow of itself, for its driver had used it as a contrivance for personal enrichment. WILL OUR SUN EVER RISE? The Igbo man's political and economic disintegration and social prejudice continued on end, with no respite in sight. Tired of trying in vain, our Igbo brothers resigned to fate but refused to give up on their quest to prevail, commercially. They had made up their mind to be preyed upon whilst doing their utmost to better the lot of their families. Suddenly, the VOICE surfaced! It came from lands faraway from the shores of Nigeria, reawakening lost hope, breaking  the cocoons built by MASSOB, and changing the gloom that had partnered the Igbo man. Sunrise, we behold thee.

Notably, it was not just a change in voice and mode of agitation; it was also a transformation of name - from MASSOB to IPOB. The mask behind the VOICE seemed to be someone with terrorising physique,  a kind of macho man, since he spoke without fear and knew everything about the chequered history of the various tribes and ethnic groups in Nigeria. His mode of presentation elicited mixed reactions, with condemnation  from those that were the beneficiaries of a dysfunctional  Nigeria. The odds, however, were against his traducers, for most of us had seen in him the needed courage, determination, and revolutionary gumption to pull down the WALLS OF JERICHO. As days went by, we noted to our chagrin, that RAY became BEAM of hope, giving us the elusive ground to become OPTIMISTIC. Oh yes, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's mercurial and unique radio presentation rekindled the dowsed fire in the East and South-South! Darkness,  go thee thy way!

His exceptional level of education and exposure made him recapture the historical scope of the Biafra struggle, for the unlettered Uwazuruike had made it an Igbo affair. For Mazi Kanu,  the heterogeneity inherent in the struggle had to be exhumed because he knew whence the name itself came from. Some pundits and ardent listeners still feared the Radio Biafra broadcast would end as a fruitless propaganda, but were stunned when the VOICE manifested as body and soul in his bid to walk the talk. Mazi Kanu, a royalty that had naturalized in Britain, submitted his sovereignty,  his pleasure to the security apparatus for arrest and eventual unjust incarceration. Cynics, even after having seen this, still entertained a modicum of dubiety as to his sincerity,  but eventually became attentive when the VOICE in the lion's den remained resolute. Our love for him and hope for sunlight  reached its zenith when he undauntedly told the compromised Justice Binta Nyako that the President was daft and helpless. We watched in awe as our hero tackled the combined forces of compromised Judiciary and unlawful Executive headlong. The sun shall shine again. Oppression and suppression, thy days are numbered.

O yes, the inclement weather surrounding the Land of the Rising Sun,  Biafra, came back to life when the frivolous charges against Mazi Kanu fell like a pack of cards when legally tested for admissibility! Hope, Oh hope, here cometh thou! In our time, a replica of Nelson Mandela has come. There are those who see this phenomenal fellow as Moses whose mission is to lead us out of Egypt. Prince Nnamdi Kanu embodies the evasive SUNLIGHT project Biafra needs. Sunrise at last!  Hope at last! His hard stance has rendered that of the operators of Nigeria thin. Out of frustration, they who swore that Nigeria would never be dissembled; yes, even they who once said Biafra was dead and buried, are the same shameless ones crusading for secession as the panacea to lasting peace. We are marching. We are on the move.

Who would have thought that the Futa Jalons would lose control and quit us?  This bite from Mazi Kanu and IPOB worldwide  must have been devastating. It took just one sit-at-home for the Sun to rise.  May this risen Sun shed its bright light on the Niger Delta. May the convoluted travails of Biafra agitators, which dates back to 1966, teach our brothers and sisters down South that mere declaration of Niger Delta Republic is not all that is needed. May the risen Sun in Biafra cause the speck to fall off the eyes of our people down South so that they can come to the dialogue table and, together with the East, birth a nation for us all.  It is my earnest prayer to Chukwuokikeabiama (Tamuno) that the risen Biafra Sun thaws away every seed of discord responsible for expressed and harboured malice between the South-East and South-South in Jesus's  name.  Amen!  United we stand. In solidarity we shall prevail.

God bless Biafra
God bless IPOB
God bless South-East
God bless South-South
God bless Prince Nnamdi Kanu
