BIAFRA: CHEKWAS OKORIE AND ANOTHER NIGERIA POLITICAL PARTY AGAIN?

Chekwas Okorie is one of the leading figures in Biafra Land who ought to be in the forefront for the restoration of the sovereign state of Biafra but he prefers to romance with Nigeria politics to the detriment of the people of Biafra. He was one of those political jobbers gallivanting around the late Biafran hero, Odumegwu Ojukwu, and it was thought he will be promoting the legacy of the late Biafra leader. Personally, I do not have a problem with him floating a Nigeria political party but doing that using the influence of the current clamor for the restoration of Biafra bothers me.
The idea of floating a political party in Nigeria to propagate the desire of the people of Biafra is nothing new but it has always ended up in failure. The formation of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) was the purpose of giving the people of Biafra a voice in the political affairs in Nigeria but the party was hijacked by political sycophants and criminals in Biafra Land. APGA was formed in order to promote the desire of the people of Biafra but unfortunately got contaminated with the Nigeria culture of corruption associated with political office holders.
After the death of Odumegwu Ojukwu, the true traits of the leaders and politicians inclined to APGA was exposed, as they were not concerned about the people of Biafra but more interested in amassing wealth and seeking for higher political office in Nigeria. There was no way these sets of politicians from APGA could carry out the plans of the people of Biafra because as usual they have to pledge loyalty to the northern oligarchy that controls the affairs of Nigeria. None of these politicians were capable of voicing out the desire of the people of Biafra because they were cowards who could not confront the cabals in the Nigeria government. Rather, these self-serving politicians representing Biafrans remained mute while the cabal in government intensified the marginalization against their people.
The emergence of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu rekindled the hope of the people of Biafra in restoring their fatherland but these same evil politicians in Biafra Land saw the leader of IPOB as an enemy to their political dreams. They connived with the government of Muhammadu Buhari to arrest Nnamdi Kanu, believing his arrest will deter Biafrans from the quest for the restoration of Biafra. Unfortunately for these politicians, the people of Biafra have made up their minds and are solidly behind their leader who is illegally detained. Protests and demonstrations followed his arrests with the Nigeria security forces killing and maiming Biafrans demanding for his release. The extra judicial killings and violence against Biafrans continued and the politicians remained silent.
The arrest of Nnamdi Kanu propelled the gospel of the restoration of Biafra as more Biafrans began to key into the plans of IPOB towards the restoration of Biafra. Now, the politicians in Biafra Land are aware that the people of Biafra are ready to die for the restoration of Biafra and they devised another means of distraction by creating a political party with self-determination included in their manifesto.
There is no way the creation of a political party will be helpful in the restoration of Biafra because Nigeria is not yet civilized to tread such path. How can a country that has never taken several of its national conference report serious be able to allow a political party enforces its manifesto? The Nigeria government does not respect the rule of law and will surely frustrate the efforts of a political solution. Is it not the same class of politicians that has lost the trust of the people of Biafra that will make up the political party? It is laughable that the same man who told Biafrans to give President Muhammadu Buhari a chance instead of clamoring for the restoration of Biafra is now calling on Biafrans to join his political party so as to achieve their quest.
Chekwas Okorie is trying to ride on the success of IPOB led by Nnamdi Kanu to achieve his dream of becoming the president of Nigeria. He failed woefully in uniting and strengthening APGA and decided to form his own political party named United Progressive Party (UPP). As the people of Biafra continues to clamor for the restoration of the sovereign state of Biafra, Chekwas Okorie in collaboration with the dubious Billie human right have formed a group called Movement of Biafrans in Nigeria (MOBIN). The aim of MOBIN is to mislead the people of Biafra into joining UPP, thereby dumping the struggle for the restoration of Biafra. The political jobbers led by Chekwas Okorie quickly added self-determination to their party manifesto in order to deceive gullible Biafrans. They have gone ahead in trying to hijack the leadership of IPOB, seeing that the people of Biafra are solidly behind Nnamdi Kanu and not interested in Nigeria politics.
Chekwas Okorie can continue with his mobilization for his political party but must stay far away from IPOB as they have sworn to restore Biafra or die trying. The era of deceit against the people of Biafra is long gone as they are better enlightened and knowledgeable. The yearning of the people of Biafra is the restoration of Biafra and that has never changed. Those politicians of Biafra origin must wake up from their slumber and support their people. They must begin to pressurize for a referendum to avoid the looming danger that will overrun them also. The restoration of Biafra should be paramount in the mind of every sane thinking Biafran.
