BIAFRA: CONTINUED DETENTION OF NNAMDI KANU; MUHAMMADU BUHARI IS STANDING ALONE

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu; IPOB Leader
For the first time in Nigeria; I have seen a situation everybody disagreed on a particular thing; the journalists, politicians and bigger percentage of the people view or rather admitted that a particular thing is wrong. They have all voiced their disapproval but Muhammadu Buhari’s bigotry wouldn’t let him have a sense, at least a common sense. The continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu has brought condemnation from all works of life in Nigeria and people are beginning to question the rationale behind detaining Nnamdi Kanu instead of addressing the agitation that gathered momentum through his continued detention. Even most bigots said that Nnamdi Kanu’s detention is nothing but aggravating or worsening things. The least was when a staunch pro-Buhari told me that he admits that Nnmdi Kanu’s continued detention is no longer welcomed that Buhari can fight or oppose Biafra without the detention that has formed basis or given the agitation essential advantage.

The mouth of the people is the mouth of God; nobody will rule out Nnamdi Kanu factor in the problem confronting Nigeria, the numerous deaths and worsening situation. The more everything is being worked to be better is the more they are deteriorating; I was even told one dollar is now five hundred and twenty Naira. The economy seems to be dead and gone; it is arguable that nemesis has caught up with Nigeria. For Muhammadu Buhari to think that detaining Nnamdi Kanu for questioning or provoking an issue that cost over 3.5 million lives in 1967 and still costing lives is the solution to addressing it, he must be totally hallucinating.

Internationally; Muhammadu Buhari is standing alone, the issue of Nnamdi Kanu’s continued detention has caused numerous deaths that drew the world’s attention. The various massacres ensured that Nigeria is tagged the most dangerous place for Christians on this earth. The heartless massacres of peacefully and unarmed protesters ensured that Muhammadu Buhari is alone. US will likely be questioning the massacre of Trump supporters and the cause which will be narrowed down to Nnamdi Kanu’s continued detention. There is no hiding place for Muhammadu Buhari with protests going on all around the world and questions being asked over what is happening in Nigeria.

There is high presence of media following or behind Nnamdi Kanu; there is no way to misinterpret or mislead the world or the public on Nnamdi Kanu’s case. There is no way the continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu can be justified and neither can he be wrongly accused. There is globalization; the issue of agitation is often met with referendum; Britain has done it and everybody has done and continued to do it. Prime Minister David Cameron recently resigned instead of detainning Brexit campaigners or agitators, he chose to resign instead of unleashing the military and that will be the reference point that will ensure Buhari stands alone. With the way the world is moving right now; and by virtue of democratic dispensation, Muhammadu Buhari is standing alone.

We are praying and hoping that the continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu results not to crisis because that is the only means to making Nigeria worse than Syria. The sovereignty of Nigeria might be shielding him from the reality of things on ground; other countries might be observing international rules of engagement anchored on diplomacy but in the case of crisis, where they have right to arm or assist anybody, Nigeria will understand that Muhammadu Buhari is really standing alone. You cannot rightly think that nobody knows what is happening and you can tell the world that gives referendum a chance that they don’t know the power of sovereignty or depth of political power they wield. You cannot rightly detain Nnamdi Kanu for peacefully asking a thing; a legal thing and upon that his inalienable right- self-determination.

Nobody is standing with Muhammadu Buhari; Nnamdi Kanu knew the power of media to have positioned it before his agitation and that means that the world will always be updated and aware of what is true and what is false. There is no way Nigeria will win this battle if not to address the agitation squarely. Continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu is a big mistake that needs correction or let us all perish in our lack of knowledge. Biafra is a case of justice; and there is never a time both will say their own side of the story and Nigeria will have support over Biafra. Let Nnamdi Kanu be released and Biafra agitation addressed in the most civil way.
