BIAFRA: PRINCESS KANU TO LAUNCH AFRAWOOD; BIAFRA OWNED (NATIONAL) FILM INDUSTRY

Princess Kanu is the younger sister of the Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra; an established actress who came back from oversees for the purpose of Biafra restoration project. She has taken part in most Nollywood films and had taken centre stage. She seems not to be perturbed over the continued detention of her Prince as she remains resolute and has vowed to diplomatically fight for the restoration of Biafra, taking her career into the struggle reflects the passion of Kanu’s Family in joining millions of Biafrans worldwide to restore Biafra.

She had constantly led or stayed in front during protests for the release of the Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra; indicating that she is not afraid to die for her country and that her life is not more precious than those that have died as a result of illegal military action, sanctioned by Muhammed Buhari. She is very much assured that Biafra has been restored and feels there is need to start nation building.

In a move to ensure a smooth transition; Princess Kanu is set to launch Afrawood, a Biafran owned film industry. Afrawood will give the people of Biafra the independence to manage and run a national film industry, Nigeria is on her way to dissolution- through referendum; hence a stitch in time saves nine. This however is categorized as a diplomatic effort in response to Biafra restoration which is now almost certain to happen even though it is battling time.

“We have done the work and now we need to use our head; we need to start being diplomatic” she said while talking about her move. She posited that Biafra is right here with us and there is no other way to go if not to start management of Biafra or transition which will be done diplomatically.

Biafra took another dimension when Nnamdi Kanu the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra was arrested and incarcerated. The people of Biafra in their millions and in every part of Biafra took to the streets to demand the release of Nnamdi Kanu, though the release has not taken effect but that move gave Biafra momentum and the needed attention to exploit. That attention alone and more coming with the continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu; is enough to restore Biafra.

Nollywood was launched by Biafrans under Nigeria and the Industry triumphed until they left; she strongly believes that Afrawood will compete and outshine any other Industry in Africa. “We are preparing and we already have actors and actresses; we will solicit for Camera from IPOB worldwide and everything needed to start up the Industry. People can invest in the Industry and that will make it a reality. You have to trust the ability of Biafrans; Afrawood will make history and produce films in the category of Black November” she added.

Speaking on the purpose of the establishment of the Industry; she held that there are stories that needed to be told and watched which Nollywood cannot tell. “We must not allow other people take advantage of us; IPOB is worldwide ‘people’, we are a nation and we have to tell our story. We must not allow any other person to tell our story for us, make the money and even tell inaccurate story about us. We have to take up the responsibility and that is diplomacy; make the money for IPOB and restore Biafra through that same effort, the fight is now a diplomatic one”

“Nnamdi Kanu has made a complete world class film; others will not produce such film for us; we have to start as quickly as possible and tell our story. If we wait; they would take it and do it the way they want or even conceal it. Afrawood is a part of the plan, part of the struggle and a diplomatic bloc” she said.

“Biafrans are scattered in Nollywood and Afrawood is now a platform to make Biafra great; the film Industry will provide a platform for them to return home and build their culture, ideology and tell their stories the way they want without being censored” an intending investor said.

“All Biafrans must join this moving train; our actors and actresses have to come together and new ones can join. This is a massive action; coming from the family of Nnamdi Kanu; it shows they are not deterred or downtrodden over the condition of the Prince. Biafra is everything and Princess Kanu has shown the courage needed to restore Biafra” Mr Kindsley Onuigbo, a Nollywood actor said when approached.
