It is quite obvious that there is a full blown tyranny in Nigeria led by President Muhammadu Buhari, his wife Aisha Buhari confirmed it in in her recent interview with BBC. And Muhammadu Buhari in a rage had to relegate her to the kitchen, living room and the other room, in far away Germany in front of the German people and government led by Chancellor Angela Merkel.

The Legislative arm of the government in Nigeria has been relegated to the point of servitude that allows the dictatorial stance of the president and his cabal without questions. After the successful pocketing of the Nigeria legislative by the cabal in the government of Muhammadu Buhari, there is a drastic move by the same cabal to hijack the Nigeria Judiciary and that is becoming successful. The cabal is notably made up of members of the president’s ‘kitchen cabinet’ such as the Director General of SSS, Lawal Duara, the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, and the Secretary to the Government, Babachir Lawal, whom are all close relatives to the president.

In the maiden media chat of President Muhammadu Buhari, he berated the judges who had given judicial rulings against his government especially on the case involving the leader of IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and former NSA, Sambo Dasuki, so it does not come as a surprise that all of these judges have recently been intimidated and blackmailed by the State Security Service (SSS) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) under strict directive from the president.

Over 30 judges of superior courts including the Supreme Court are allegedly being investigated by both the SSS and EFCC on suspicion of corruption due to their lifestyle. Recently, the SSS undertook a midnight raid on the homes of seven federal judges, including two Supreme Court justices. This reporter- Chima Onyekachi, observed that the warrant for the raid on these judges was issued to the SSS and authorized by a specially created ‘Northern States of Nigeria Judiciary’. How come there is an arm of Judiciary for the Northern states with a higher jurisdiction to the Nigeria Judicial Council? Meanwhile, Mahmud Mohammed , the Chief Justice of Nigeria, has condemned the attack on the judges and had reportedly confronted the president in Aso Rock on the unconstitutional action of the SSS.

The use of the Northern States of Nigeria Judiciary against senior Judges in Nigeria is targeted at giving the cabal in the government the opportunity to foist their puppets as judges in superior courts including the Supreme Court. While the Supreme Court judges who were raided are still under unlawful detention by the SSS, President Muhammadu Buhari sent the names of two judges to the Nigerian senate for confirmation as justices of the Supreme Court. The two new Supreme Court Justice nominees are of northern extraction.

The harassment of Judges would have been averted if the CJN, Mahmud Mohammed, had taken quick and bold steps when the President flagrantly refused to obey court orders made by Justice Adetokunbo Ademola which directed the unconditional release of Nnamdi Kanu. He was also quite on the bail and rearrest of Sambo Dasuki inside the court premises.
Why didn’t the CJN alert the world when Justice John Iyang Okoro verbally reported to him on 1st February, 2016 about the visit to his official residence by the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Ameachi? Even when the visit by ex-governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi to the Judge was to deceive and pressure him into giving favorable verdict to the President’s political party - All Progressive Congress (APC), in the election Appeals in respect of Abia State, Rivers State and Akwa-Ibom State. Why is Justice John Tsoho who glaring abused the judicial process in the trial of Nnamdi Kanu, still wearing the cloak of a judge?

The Nigeria Judicial Council has allowed itself to be enslaved and must do everything necessary to release itself from further subjugation and dictatorial grip of President Muhammadu Buhari. The purported mass resignation of senior judges by the Nigeria media is what Buhari and his cabal wants, to enable them hijack the Judiciary. The Judiciary is the last hope of the common man and an independent arm of the government, Buhari  and his cabal must be resisted.

The legislative arm should grow alittle spine and checkmate the impromtu nomination of Justice sent to them for confirmation. The hijack of the Nigeria Judiciary by the President’s cabal will definitely lead to anarchy, which will consume even those that have refused to speak out because of their cowardice.
