The Biafra Post
September 13,2026
The official opening of the IPOB Liaison Office in Catalunya on Saturday, September 12, 2026, has emerged as one of the most significant international diplomatic moments for IPOB this year.
The occasion attracted a Catalan Member of Parliament, political figures, national media organizations, special guests, and global IPOB members, turning the event into a powerful display of international recognition and solidarity.
But what happened inside that hall went far beyond an office opening.
🇨🇦 CATALAN MP DELIVERS POWERFUL MESSAGE TO BIAFRANS
Addressing the gathering, the Catalan MP expressed happiness at the occasion and offered words of encouragement to IPOB members.
She promised that Catalan representatives would continue working closely with IPOB leadership on shared efforts toward their mutual struggles for freedom.
Then came the historical reminder that stunned the gathering.
The lawmaker told Biafrans that Catalan solidarity with Biafra did not begin today.
She recalled that during the genocidal war against Biafra, when women and children were being killed by the Nigerian government, some Catalans had already taken steps to raise awareness about the suffering of Biafrans.
She revealed that a group of Catalans organized a football match in support of Biafra as a means of drawing international attention to the cause.
She also remembered a Catalan musician, now late, who composed a song in support of Biafra.
According to her explanation, the message of the song was clear:
Even when genocide is committed, Biafra is a seed that will never die. Biafra lives!
Her final words shook the hall:
«“Do not allow anyone, including the Nigerian government, to intimidate you by saying Biafra is dead. No! Biafra is not dead. Biafra lives!”»
The hall erupted in a thunderous ovation.
🔥 EDOZIEM ARRIVES WITH GLOBAL DELEGATION
The venue was filled to capacity as HODS Mazi Chikadibia Edoziem and his executive delegation joined the official opening ceremony.
Global IPOB members, media practitioners, political guests, and supporters filled the hall as the HODS delivered a highly energetic and motivational address focused on hope, discipline, unity, and the eventual freedom of Biafra.
He commended members of his cabinet, national coordinators, zonal coordinators, and principal officers of IPOB for their sacrifices and continued support for the Directorate of State.
IPOB media also received special recognition.
The HODS described IPOB media as exceptional, expressing amazement at how they continue to navigate complex situations, withstand attacks, and consistently disseminate information despite enormous pressure.
He praised broadcasters, writers, reporters, and every media practitioner contributing to the movement, emphasizing that each plays a unique and indispensable role.
⚡ THE REVELATION THAT EXPOSED THE BACKGROUND BATTLE
But the most striking moment came when the HODS revealed what had allegedly been happening behind the scenes.
According to Mazi Chikadibia Edoziem, opponents had made serious attempts to scuttle the Catalunya events.
He further alleged that Nnamdi Kanu, through his Sokoto associates, officially wrote to Catalan authorities requesting that IPOB should not be allowed to participate in the program.
Yet, despite those alleged efforts, the legitimate IPOB delegation arrived on official invitation.
Not only did IPOB participate, the delegation was also given the opportunity to make an official presentation.
And the following day, Catalunya’s friends and international partners were present at the opening of the IPOB Liaison Office.
That was the diplomatic response.
🌍 INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION VS. SOKOTO CAMP’S COLLAPSE
While IPOB under the Directorate of State was receiving international invitations, political engagement, media attention, and public recognition, the Sokoto camp associated with Kanu was left struggling to recover from the embarrassment surrounding its rejected appearance and the controversy that followed.
The Catalunya events have therefore exposed a widening contrast:
One side engaging internationally through official channels.
The other side struggling with diplomatic rejection and internal confusion.
The opening of the Catalunya Liaison Office was not merely a ceremony.
It was a demonstration that IPOB’s international diplomatic network remains active, respected, and capable of engaging political institutions beyond Nigeria.
It was also a reminder that attempts to erase Biafra from the international conversation have failed.
✊ BIAFRA LIVES!
From the powerful declaration of the Catalan MP to the motivational address by HODS Mazi Chikadibia Edoziem, the message from Catalunya was unmistakable:
Biafra is not dead.
Biafra remains alive.
And the international struggle continues.
